- You are a modern Java or Python developer who knows Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices, relational databases (Postgres), and event-based systems (Kafka)
- Experience working on teams practicing Agile and/or Scrum methodologies
- Able to effectively collaborate with the team as well as take initiative and work independently to solve problems
- Regularly seeks to turn ideas into action and injects creativity into every touch point
- Strive for excellence in all you do and always look to improve our products and services
- Communicate effectively in a cross-functional product development team and present ideas and designs effectively
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to architectural discussions and code reviews
- Proactively consider security implications of the work
- Is up-to-date on latest advances in technology and on best practices and guides the team appropriately
- Understands the stack in-depth and is able to troubleshoot issues, including production issues, from application through to infrastructure
- Aware of compliance standards and ensures they are met and ensures SSDLC is followed by the team
Experience & Skills Required – Babylon Software Engineer – Backend Jobs 2023
- 5+ years of experience in building backend applications
- Hands-on experience in Java or Python, Spring boot, MongoDB or RDBMS
- Proficiency in writing secure, scalable, and performant code for a cloud environment
- Good experience in testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito
- Experience with AWS services is a plus
- Experience working on GraphQL APIs is a plus
