- Software design, implementation and test for Smart Hub using Agile development methods, based on leading industry standards, to deliver strategic product set.
- Working in a small agile development team to deliver next-generation products in ambitious timescales.
- Software engineer for one of more complex software components.
- Effective contributor to best software engineering practice, including automated testing.
- Collaborating with other software development teams to ensure overall compliance to product specification and best in class customer experience.
- Provide software design and engineering insights throughout the product lifecycle.
- Working with designers and specialists to understand requirements, confirm user stories and desired customer experience
- Constantly learning and developing – in terms of technology skills and striving to work more efficiently
Experience & Skills Required – BT Group Fresher Jobs 2023
- Strong software design & development experience, using C on embedded Linux systems.
- Good CI/CD, TDD and Python experience
- Good experience in building & debugging / shell scripting software for embedded Linux system development
- Good understanding and use of code revision and continuous integration tools, such as git, Gitlab, Jira, R4J & Confluence.
- Knowledge of hardware / software constraints related to developing home gateways.
- Experience of Agile delivery methods such as Scrum, Kanban; iterative task planning.
- Ideally experience of building products using OpenWRT or similar.
- Ideally knowledge and experience of test automation using Robot Framework
- Ideally knowledge and experience of working with in-home customer premise equipment, home/office networking and/or related technologies, e.g. Broadband DSL/Fibre, 4G/5G Mobile networks, IP, WiFi, Voice, DECT, IoT, Home Networking
